About Me

Alexander Nicholson
Alex Nicholson is the Executive Director and founder of Servicemembers United. He served as a multi-lingual human intelligence collector in the U.S. Army, but was honorably discharged from the military early (just 6 months after 9/11) pursuant to the arbitrary and capricious nature of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law. Alex has turned the misfortune of his experience with DADT into targeted, aggressive, and successful advocacy for the repeal of the law that forced him from the Army early and caused the military to lose a highly skilled and talented soldier during its greatest hour of need. He has appeared on CNN, on the cover of 'The Advocate' magazine, and throughout countless other media stories and articles on the DADT issue both as a 'victim' of the policy and as a pro-active and innovative national leader in the movement to repeal it.
